Surrounded near Victoria Park, the Kew Tennis Club has been located on its current site since 1919. Stokes Rousseau was engaged to revitalise the period style clubrooms to support increasing club memberships and current building regulations. Works included removing the internal layout of the building, using temporary props to carry roof loads, installing large steel beams to replace load bearing walls to create an open plan layout. Concrete slabs were poured to replace existing timber sub-floors and a small extension at the rear of the building was created to link existing bathrooms and a new shower facility. The building was re-plumbed, re-wired and completely re-modelled to ensure the facilities can support the iconic club for years to come.
