Stokes Rousseau was engaged to upgrade the Swanston Street Childcare Centre for the University of Melbourne. Works included demolishing a double storey brick wall, propping and underpinning the bluestone foundations, rebuilding the walls using salvaged hand pressed bricks, repointing walls with lime based mortar and an internal refurbishment was completed, comprising of a new kitchen, carpet throughout, new plaster and painted walls. All works were completed within a functioning childcare facility with limited disruption to staff and services.
