The Royal Mint, Working Heritage, VIC

The heritage listed former Royal Mint was built between 1869 and 1872. Originally containing coin production facilities, administration buildings, residential quarters and associated structures, the city block now features a functioning carpark surrounded by the original brickwork perimeter walls. Stokes Rousseau was engaged to undertake partial demolition and re-building of the brick wall, Helibar reinforcement works and re-pointing using traditional slaked lime mortar mixes.
